Keeping track of shared expenses with friends is a real headache. Maybe some of these sound familiar:

  • "Who paid last time? I think it was me."
  • "How much was dinner again? Does that include tip?"
  • "$52? I only have twenties..."
  • "Yeah, you paid for dinner but I got the uber remember? So with that... its about.....one sec..."

Perhaps some of your friends are more sensitive with money than others. Or maybe that guy who owes you for the airbnb is a friend of a friend and a bit difficult to reach.

Tracking is only half the battle. At some point, you still have to settle the balances. Which has its own challenges: maybe you were visiting Japan and didn't have foreign currency on hand, maybe your banks can't talk to each other.
